IN MEMORIAM
Joseph Francis Xavier Donovan Jr.
Joseph Francis Xavier Donovan Jr. was a proud member of the Harvard College class of 1972. After receiving his MBA from Northeastern University, Joe eventually returned to Harvard as a fundraiser. He was known for his drive, judgment, and love of mentoring young professionals. Joe also gave of himself as a volunteer and board member for Boston-area institutions. With his reputation as the one person you could always count on, Joe set an example for his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him. Joe’s legacy of giving to others lives on through The 72 Fund.
Megan Donovan-Chien
Megan Donovan-Chien is Founder & President of The 72 Fund, which identifies, invests in, and creates programs to address critical unmet needs in the areas of children’s mental and physical health and educational advancement on an international scale. She serves on UNICEF’s International Council and International Council Members Collective, the Board of the Esperanza School, as well as other non-profit boards. Previously, she founded and ran the DMM Global Foundation, a 501(c)3 focused on education and research in the areas of molecular medicine and global cardiovascular health as well as women’s maternal health. Megan has worked on HIV/AIDs prevention among the Maasai Mara of Kenya; conducted charitable work in Asia, Africa, and Europe; and taught English in Xi’an, China. The 72 Fund seeks to honor Megan’s late father, a fundraiser and mentor, and to inspire a spirit of giving in her children. Megan believes that every dollar and every idea counts in the effort to improve the lives of women and children.
