Kingsley Montessori School

An early commitment by The 72 Fund helped the Kingsley Montessori School raise the funds needed to purchase a permanent home.

Kingsley Montessori School
The acquisition of 26 Exeter Street was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a pivotal investment in our school’s longevity and our City’s vibrancy. Since 1938, Kingsley Montessori School’s child-centered program has nurtured the limitless capacity of each student and enriched the lives of families who live and work in Boston. Owning Exeter allows Kingsley to remain rooted in the Back Bay, in an iconic building whose rich architectural detail and cultural significance represents the enduring education that every Kingsley student receives. The Exeter campaign was the most significant fundraising effort in our School’s history, and completing it once seemed nearly impossible. The 72 Fund was a key partner in making this dream a reality. We at Kingsley are humbled, inspired, and extraordinarily grateful for the 72 Fund’s transformative investment in the rich history and ongoing vibrancy of our School, our neighborhood, and our City.
— Steve Farley, Head of School, Kingsley Montessori School

The 72 Fund was a driving force behind the success of Kingsley Montessori School’s campaign to secure ownership of 26 Exeter Street and ensure our School’s permanence. Megan embraced this project as an urgent, existential necessity for the School, providing not only philanthropic leadership, but creativity, foresight, and decades of experience making positive change in the world. After helping us clarify our messaging in pursuit of our first milestone, she sounded the call that we needed a pivot in Phase II to increase visibility and drive momentum towards the finish line. With a deep belief in our School’s mission, she dove in as a strategic collaborator, with an approach that yielded unprecedented community-wide support and, ultimately, completed a project that many said was impossible.

Those who knew Megan’s father, to whom the 72 Fund is dedicated, would recognize the mixture of grit, determination, and careful planning she applied to this campaign.

In the 72 Fund, Kingsley found not only a pivotal philanthropic partner, but a unique blend of generosity, humanity, strategy, and vision. It was a true joy and inspiration to work with Megan and the 72 Fund.
