Global Youth Empowerment: Drivers of Change

What does it mean to truly empower the next generation?

For millions of children around the world, empowerment begins with something simple: to be treated with dignity. All children deserve access to items many take for granted. Clean water. Safety. Stability. The chance to learn, grow, and imagine a positive future.

Every child deserves to have those needs met. This guiding principle shapes every initiative, every partnership, and every decision we make.

The 72 Fund began with a single young person who saw a need and chose to act. That vision—rooted in empathy, initiative, and belief in the power of youth—continues to guide our efforts today. It serves as a reminder that young people are not only beneficiaries of change, but powerful drivers of it.

In regions affected by conflict, this has meant delivering essential supplies to children and families facing conflict—providing not just materials, but a sense of stability during moments of crisis. In other parts of the world, our focus has been on long-term wellbeing, such as funding access to clean water and safe spaces, so that children can grow up healthy and attend school instead of spending hours securing basic resources.

This flexibility is at the heart of true empowerment. Supporting youth is not just about offering help; it is about understanding what is needed in each moment and responding with urgency and care. Whether immediate relief or sustained investment, the goal remains the same: to create conditions where young people can succeed.

As global challenges evolve, so too must the ways in which we support the next generation. Empowering youth is not a short-term effort; it is an ongoing responsibility that requires collaboration, innovation, and unwavering dedication. By ensuring that children everywhere have access to what they need—when they need it—we lay the foundation for stronger communities, more resilient societies, and a more hopeful future for all.
